So far in 2014, I am thrilled to be engaged in two new, but very different ways, to better the world around me.
Earlier this year, I was named to the Maricopa Area of Governments (MAG) Continuum of Care Regional Committee on Homelessness. In this position, I am part of a team of Phoenix-area government and community leaders truly working collaboratively to end homelessness. Phoenix has made great progress, especially in the area of veterans’ homelessness, as shown here. I am among those who don’t believe the words “veteran” and “homeless” belong in the same sentence.
In a different vein, I was also recently named to the Board of Directors of the Arizona chapter of the Fulbright Association. I am excited to see how I can help international Fulbrighters become acclimated to their new homes in AZ for a year, and also team up with other local Fulbright alumni.
Such great opportunities so far this year, and it is only March!
